Senior Fellow at The Meadows
For the past 25 years, this conference has examined how trauma affects psychological and biological processes, and how the damage caused by overwhelming life experiences can be reversed. This year many of the most important contributors of our generation will summarize their work. Included in this prestigious group are Senior Fellows at The Meadows Dr. Shelly Uram, MD and Claudia Black, MSW, PhD.
The Meadows is a co-sponsor of the 25th Annual International Trauma Conference
In this compelling and powerful video, Dr. Peter Levine, The Meadows' Senior Fellow and developer of Somatic Experiencing, demonstrates this treatment with an Iraq Veteran diagnosed with severe PTSD. Somatic Experiencing is a proven method for treating PTSD in combat veterans.
As Dr. Levine explains, many soldiers bring the war back with them and if they don't resolve the war experience, then they bring that kind of violence back into the home. It makes relating to their spouse and children almost impossible.
Watch as Dr. Levine helps this veteran move past his traumatic war experiences.

Many sex addicts face the challenge of overcoming thinking patterns that allow them to justify their actions while blaming and criticizing other people. This often makes it difficult to turn to treatment. At The Meadows Arizona, we provide a safe, confidential and healing environment for sexual addiction treatment. Our expert treatment staff helps clients look at the core issues and underlying causes of sexual addiction.
