The Meadows is pleased to announce that Lecture Hall 10 and Lecture Hall 11 in the Family Building will be dedicated to two pioneers in the field of recovery.
Lecture Hall 10 will be dedicated to Pia Mellody for her years of service in the field of trauma. Pia started her career as a nurse at The Meadows in 1976. In this role, she realized that many of her patients suffered from childhood trauma and she soon developed her model, which has proven successful in treating addiction and trauma at The Meadows for more than 30 years. Pia is the author of several extraordinary books, including Facing Codependence, Facing Love Addiction, and The Intimacy Factor. We at The Meadows, along with our alumni, thank Pia for her lifetime of dedication to The Meadows and the fields of addiction and relationships.
Lecture Hall 11 will be dedicated to John Bradshaw for his lifetime of work in the treatment of addiction. John has touched and changed lives through his books, television series, lectures and workshops on the topics of recovery and family systems. John has written three New York Times bestselling books: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child; Creating Love, and Healing the Shame that Binds You. We thank John for his contribution to the treatment of families and addiction. ∞
