Primary care at The Meadows is specifically designed for each individual as a holistic program treating emotions, body, mind and spirit. The intensive treatment is 12-Step-based and enhanced by a unique, comprehensive program developed at The Meadows. Continuing care assistance, alumni support and on-campus educational/reaffirmation workshops support the recognition that recovery is a continuing journey.

The Meadows is a multidisorder facility serving individuals seeking treatment for and recovery from toxic and abusive living.
Addiction to alcohol and drugs.

Compulsive behaviors such as eating, gambling, work, sex, love addiction/avoidance and codependence.
Mood disorders including bipolar disorder and depression.

Anxiety disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic disorder.
Treatment at The Meadows is personalized to meet individual needs. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists and professional counselors work cooperatively and consistently with total dedication in the best interest of each patient. Medical and nursing services provide initial care and continuing support.

Many programs treat only the symptoms of addiction. By focusing on the roots of individual patient disorders, The Meadows’ staff identifies and addresses the core patterns that have caused continual return to self-destructive behaviors.

Continuing care, the vital factor in the long-term success of recovery, begins with admission and is interwoven throughout treatment to provide a supportive transition to the home environment.

Recovery is a path that many of the staff members personally walk. Their understanding and respect for each patient’s pain and despair come from their own histories and subsequent recoveries.

A goal-oriented treatment schedule is customized around each patient’s personal progress in recovery. Therapeutic approaches include small group sessions, intensive boundary work, individual psychiatric sessions, topic groups, educational videos, recreational and art therapy, spirituality counseling, nutritional consultation, yoga, tai chi, acupuncture, community meetings and 12-Step recovery. Peer support and interaction are integral parts of The Meadows’ healing process.

Treatment may combine other successful therapeutic approaches, including experiential work, grief sessions and family participation programs, as patients learn to change destructive patterns and achieve more fulfilling lives.
